Crime thriller genre is my favorite. I like series and movies that show people doing crimes in new ways. What is the story behind the way serial killers kill someone, fascinates me.
I watched this series last year, but forgot to write a review. Today I recalled, so I thought I would write something about it.
The story of the Hannibal revolves around an FBI consultant who is a serial killer profiler with the ability to put himself in the place of the criminal and think like a toxic in order to catch serial killers. It proves to be very beneficial for FBI, but doing all this also puts a lot of mental stress on him.
In the meantime, a psychiatrist enlisted himself to help him solve cases.
Now a consultant and a psychiatrist team up to hunt down the killer, who kills people and eats their body parts in new ways.
Both the consultant and the psychiatrist become quite familiar with each other while solving the cases. You will have to watch this series to find out who’s the toxic killer.
The story of the series Hannibal, is a bit slow-paced but as the story progresses, it becomes interesting and engrossing.
The faint of heart should not watch this series as it has a lot of gore and scenes of killing and cannibals which are very disturbing.
As for me, I really liked this series.
The chemistry between the consultant and the psychiatrist was amazing.
Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen do fantastic work in the leads. Good acting by primary and side casts. But its the antagonist who stole the show.
Mads Mikkelson had surpassed everyone with his quirky acting and frantic skills in Hannibal. I mean we used to feel pity on his victims but that never changed our mind to hate him.
Truly superb writing, casting, acting, direction and editing. Hannibal is a work of art. If you can watch in a quiet, intimate setting, you will truly appreciate the elegant horror.
Are you interested in human psychology?
If yes, then this series is made for you, watch it at earliest.
In the end I would like to share a dialogue with you from the series.
The mirrors in your mind can reflect the best of yourself not the worst of someone else.
